INLT is a local, non-profit, non-political organization with over 400 members. Through easements, acquisitions, and by working with other conservation partners we have helped preserve 11,219 acres of wetlands, shorelines, farmlands, and forests in eastern Washington and northern Idaho for present and future generations.
Where We Work
We work in five counties in eastern Washington (Spokane, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Stevens, and Adams) and two counties in northern Idaho (Kootenai and Bonner). To be efficient and effective in this large area, we focus our efforts on the Wild Lifelines -- the special places that nourish wildlife and preserve the clean air, clean water, and scenic beauty of our region.
Why We Do This
In Spokane County, 10,000 acres of open space are lost each year, and in the next 20 years we expect 151,000 new residents. Now is the last chance to protect the open space, park land, farms and forests that knit our landscape together. It is our home where people, plants and wildlife of the Inland Northwest live and flourish.
What You Can Do
If you believe the habitat, resources, open space or scientific values of your land should be preserved, INLT invites you to explore ways to permanently protect your property for the benefit of you and the community. INLT can help you understand options for protecting your land and meeting your conservation goals. Please feel free to call us at 509-328-2939 or e-mail us at info@inlandnwlandtrust.org for more information about local land conservation. If you don't have land for conservation, you can still help by joining INLT, making a gift or volunteering your time. See How You Can Help.
